Configure and Deploy Office 365 Hybrid

I have worked complicated and challenging project which is configuring and deploying Office 365 Hybrid and Succeeded recently. I have deployed Office 365 Hybrid on existing on premise exchange 2007 Environment. I have followed below steps to achieve this goal.

1.       Install prerequisites software on Exchange 2007 Servers such as Service pack and Cumulative updates which supports for Hybrid.

2.       Install Exchange 2013 CU1 on Existing Exchange server 2007

3.       Configured Coexistence between Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013

4.       Make sure Auto discover records points to your Exchange 2013

5.       Deploy the Hybrid in Exchange 2013 with office 365 by running Hybrid configuration Wizard

6.       Test and verify by creating the user account , by moving the mailbox and by mail flow

I had great experince on deploying office 365 hybrid deployment between on premise Exchange 2007 and Exchange online. I have been used office 365 deployment Assistant Tool which had very good guidelines to setup hybrid and Got success.

In this Assistant Tool does not have guidelines of Firewall server if you have in your environment like ISA/TMG or Cisco. Network Admin/Security Admin have to involve to publish the sites to internet.

Windows 8 activation Error 0x8007007B

When i tried to activate windows 8 OS, I got "Error 0x8007007B  The File name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect, contact your administrator" error message and tried below commands to change my product key and activation.

Open Command as administrar and type below command one by one

slmgr.vbs /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

slmgr.vbs /ato

The first command will update the key.
The second command will activate Windows.
Replace the "XXXX" bits with your Windows 8 Key

Sharepoint Search working only for Sharepoint Admin

Sharepoint Search is not working anyone Except Sharepoint Admin

I configured Sharepoint Search and Crawled the Sharepoint Websites in the Sharepoint 2010 Server and verified Search is working using Sharepoint Admin Account but the search was not working for all sharepoint Users.

Found the Solution:
                             Finally found cause for the Issue that needs to Sharepoint Search Service Account in windows server 2003 Active Directory "Add Users to the Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible Access Group" .

Once we added the Service Account on that group then Search was working for Everyone.

Outlook Social Connector is not updating Sharepoint My Site Feeds

I have configured User profile service and My Site inSharepoint 2010and I have installed Outlook Social Connector to all Client Machine. When the Sharepoint User Made the Changes in Activity Feeds in Sharepoint My Sites,  it was not updated in the users outlook Social connector. So i have done the below steps in sharepoint server 2010.

1. Open Central Admin Site and Click Monitoring
2. Select "Review Job Definitions" and Enable the " User Profile Application - Activitiy Feed Job"  Timer service.

Sharepoint Config/administration database status in Suspend Mode

I have received the " Cannot connect to the Sharepoint configuration  database " Error Message when opening the Central admin site and Finally found that " Sharepoint_config" Database was in Suspend Mode.

I ran the following SQL Query Script on the Sql Management, before running the query, please take the backup of the .mdf and ldf file.

– Use the Master database
Use Master

– Verify that database has issues
EXEC sp_resetstatus ‘SharePoint_Config’

– Put the database in emergency mode
ALTER DATABASE SharePoint_Config SET EMERGENCY
DBCC checkdb(‘SharePoint_Config’)

– Set the database in single user mode
ALTER DATABASE SharePoint_Config SET SINGLE_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE

– Repair the database with data loss
DBCC CheckDB (‘SharePoint_Config’, REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS)

– Set the database in multi-user mode
ALTER DATABASE SharePoint_Config SET MULTI_USER

– Verify that database is reset
EXEC sp_resetstatus ‘SharePoint_Config’

Now the Sharepointconfiguration database mode should be running smooth and you could open the central admin site as well.
